“Ballet is a timeless art form – it is a language everyone can understand, whatever their age or background. We exist to protect it, share it with the world and build upon it developing the talent of our awe-inspiring dancers and collaborate with artists across genres to create new works.”
Tamara Rojo – Artistic Director
Giselle is the first full length ballet choreographed by Akram Khan. Our vision is to create a new and lasting version of one of the greatest romantic ballets of all time – a classic of the future.
English National Ballet is working in collaboration with co-producing partners Manchester International Festival and Sadler’s Wells, and we have assembled a stellar international creative team featuring Academy-Award winning designer Tim Yip (set, costumes), composer Vincenzo Lamagna (music), Ruth Little (dramaturgy) and Mark Henderson (lighting).
We want as many people to see this work as possible so our national tour will be supported by a major digital campaign and education programme that reaches thousands of young people in schools, colleges and universities nationwide.
This is one of our most ambitious productions yet. You can play an important role in helping us bring this incredible production to life by making a donation to our Giselle Appeal. We hope you will be inspired to support us.
